Birds of a Feather...this is done with a napkin, decopaged and sprinkled with glitter and tiny ice flakes...the holly berries are tiny red seed beads.

On the first day of Christmas...this theme will go on all year and in December you will have a whole set. I have the wonderful chocolate wrappers from the House of Dorcester in England...they are so perfect for the ongoing theme!!

Tee at the Altered Paper has the most fun and organized swaps each month. I so enjoy being a part of them. This ATC has a vintage theme to it just right for January...

I love to stamp with Opalite inks onto photo paper because the image is hidden until you turn the card into the light...it gives it a magical quality.

I hope my partner likes it....

SEED PACKET AND DRAGONFLY ATC

Two ATC's I made for my swap partners in AMCA. The dragonfly is stamped into hot UTEE and colored with Pearl EX...glitter was sprinkled in to make it even more blingy. I love this technique because it brings out all the detail in the rubber stamp. I ink the stamp in Versamark so it will release easy and give the powder something to bite onto.

The poinsettia is done in paper clay and colored with chalk inks to match the tissue paper on the tag...vintage wallpaper and pretty ice glitter make a frosty statement for January.

This beautiful tag came special delivery from Mercedes a few days ago! How utterly enchanting in all the silver diamond dust around the edges...it just gleams when the light catches it just right. Simply vintage magic...how ever did I deserve another stunning work of your art Mercedes....thank you for brightening up my Christmas with so much lovingly created art!

Have you ever been in an art swap and nearly fainted when you opened the package the postman brings? Well I will need the smelling salts if I ever open another package from my partner Mercedes again! Her beautiful style is captivating and pure magic...thank you dear friend for the all of the wonderful inspiring creations so lovingly created by your talented hands!

Mercedes crafted this enchanting cuff using Karla Nathan's tutorial...and she sent it TO ME!!! It came in the lovely Victorian box that is a treasure in itself...I will wear this so much...thank you thank you and thank you again!!

This DREAM ATC was traded between us in a private swap...isn't she sweet and dreamy? I am so inspired by the rolled ribbon roses Mercedes so expertly creates...you can see some of my attempts at a rose garden in lace and red. I need some practice...

These are some of the treasures she included for me to use in future projects...I am overwhelmed by her generous spirit!

She sent me instant ancestors!!!!!!!!

A beautiful snowy stocking made from a vintage angora sweater...it has a magic wand in it!!

A lacey Victorian cone filled with creamy whites and roses from vintage hats I am sure...so delicate and precious...

Now for the inside of the wonderful Christmas Cheer Tin we swapped with each other. Such a fine little vintage scrap of an angel behind the veil of snowy glittery tulle!

The final wonderful picture is of the top of the tin...it has an amazing vintage bottle brush tree with mica glitter on it and fruit. It is removable so I can wear it as a corsage on my lapel!! I will treasure each and every tidbit you sent me in our swaps and my heart is bursting with song and dance and thank you's!

This beautiful ATC and the matching envelope was sawpped to me in Tee's group The Altered Paper...How could I be so lucky to have Mercedes as my partner again!!! I looked just like the little girl when I was a child living with my Oma and Opa in Bavaria.

Thank you for your magical visit...Thank you dearest Anna for allowing me into the Coven this season. Oh how autumn enchants me with it's kaleidacolor palette and melancholy and mysterious moods. I love the cozy nesting season about to begin...long evenings with heavy drapes drawn against the wild winds blowing to get into the warm parlor. The kitties are huddled together in front of the warm fireplace and the tea kettle whistles her song. When I was a small girl, I lived in Bavaria with my Oma and Opa. I often went mushroom hunting with my Opa in the beautiful thick forests...treading over the many kinds of mosses in search of the treasures. I can close my old eyes now and see the beetles and lizards we found and brought home...most of all I can remember the smell of the pine needles and fallen oak leaves. The beds of moss were so soft and felt like pillows. One day my best friend Monika and I decided we would run away and live in the woods like gypsies. I had an old goat cart that would be pulled by the pony we would take along from the neighbors pasture. We would pack it full of blankets and live off the berries and mushrooms we found. Oh I remember the dreams that little girl had...they are still alive and now I enjoy creating them in my artwork...deep down inside we are all little dreamers...and that is a good thing!

STARGAZY PIE!!!!! FISH CAKE ATC

My friend Wendy sent this most purrrrrfect ATC from Blissful ATC Swap. I just adore it because I love the book THE MOUSEHOLE CAT which features the stargazy pie dish. Thank you so much for this magical ATC Wendy! Stargazy pie is a Cornish dish made of baked pilchards, covered with a pastry crust. The pilchards are arranged with their tails toward the centre of the pie and their heads poking up through the crust around the edge, so that they appear to be gazing skyward. Along with the fish, a typical stargazy pie would contain hard-boiled eggs, bacon, onion and mustard. Many recipe variations around these ingredients exist, some which include boiled potatoes and white wine. All recipes for the stargazy pie are topped with a shortcrust pastry lid, through which the fish heads and even tails protrude.The dish originates from the village of Mousehole in Cornwall, and is traditionally eaten during the holiday of Tom Bawcock's Eve.
